A next-generation project by CryTek, makers of the dazzling FPS Far Cry. This game is running on the new CryENGINE 2 technology. The game is one of the the first announced to run on the advanced DirectX 10 architecture.
Set in 2019 after a colossal asteroid crashes to Earth, Crysis begins amidst a tense military standoff between the North Korean and United States governments for control of the impact zone. Amid rising tensions, the asteroid suddenly bursts open revealing a massive alien ship, which begins freezing vast portions of the island and altering the global weather system. The invasion of Earth has begun. Crysis features an epic three-act story of alien invasion where players are able to customize their armor and weapons in real time to confront an ever-changing enemy and a harsh, dynamic environment.

Check out the ingame graphics! Realistic lighting, high-definition textures, amazing rendering.

You got to see the particle effects. Explosions are not just bursts of fires, I mean the smoke appear realistically and follows the wind direction. Every portion of the terrain is damageable, for example the house you see above can be smashed into pieces by explosions or smashed through by a heavy vehicle.

At least a 256mb graphics card

256 MB or not, it depends on the clocking speed of the video card. If you still have a AGP card, time to get an upgrade pal. AGP Cards are being outmoded, however Nvidia released last high end VGA AGP cards are the Geforce 7800 GS that costs approx 270-360 USD but still performs less better than the PCI-E cousin the Geforce 7800 GT.

At least 2.5 gigz processor.

If you have a motherboard that has PCI-Express slots and have a Dual Core CPU, you're doing okay. But a 2.5 Ghz P4 or Celeron D isn't going to give the punch.

Um you guys are slightly off on the specs, it requires Direct X10 which is only going to be avalible for windows Vista and the video cards able to handle DX10 are still in R&D...Basically this game will cause you to upgrade or it will be a nice show off of your brand new rigs capabilities...

Eitherway the game does look like the nasty :)

edit-

Dont get me wrong you will be able to play the game without X10 but it will not look like that......

that is just insane. the graphics look like pictures. But to upgrade to the system specs for that would cost a heck of alot. and I just dont have the money to really do that. however, i can do the minimum. if everything is destroyable then its worth it to just play the minimum
