Newly built Sterling

Go through my posts and you will see that I support peoples right to carry weapons. I also think that in alot of countries, including my own, I would rather take my chances against a criminal when I am armed rather than when I amm escortec by the Police.

I wasnt arguing with you Sherman, just stating why the man is peeved. I've seen first hand what the British armed police are like, I wouldnt trust them with a water pistol. I too put more faith in my ability to protect myself with a firearm then trusting a numbnut British copper with one to look after my safety.

Plans like these are a must-have in any country where a full firearms ban is a possibility. A single-shot 12 gauge isn't a defensive weapon, it's made to be used then disassembled into innocuous looking parts and tossed.

I will never trust police with my safety. It took them about 25 minutes to get up here when my neighbor accidentally dialed 911, and about 20 minutes when my friend's house was broken into with his mom still home. It's not their fault, it's simply a rural area where everything is spread out. Plus the supreme court has ruled that police don't have an obligation to protect you, which I find a bit disturbing.

US Supreme Court Case

Warren v. District of Columbia
(444 A.2d. 1, D.C. Ct. of Ap. 1981) is a case in which three rape victims sued the District of Columbia because of negligence on the part of the police. Two of three female roommates were upstairs when they heard men break in and attack the third. After repeated calls to the police over half an hour, the roommate's screams stopped, and they assumed the police had arrived. They went downstairs and were held captive, raped, robbed, beaten, and forced to commit sexual acts upon one another and to submit to the attackers' sexual demands for 14 hours. The police had lost track of the repeated calls for assistance. DC's highest court ruled that the police do not have a legal responsibility to provide personal protection to individuals, and absolved the police and the city of any liability.

Its because of incidents like this that I am a firm believer of the right to protect oneself by any means, including lethal force and the right to keep and bear arms for said protection.

Take a look at this site and see the nonsense regarding gun control in South Africa

That's horrible. America's not bad, but if SA is anywhere near where I hear it is, I'd never feel safe going out without a piece.

Unfortunately the world press doesn't report a fraction of what goes on here.

I could relate crimes that would make you throw up, and I'm not kidding.

I was chatting to a highly qualified nurse who told me that she quit her job, because she couldn't stand some of the cases she had to deal with. She then related an incident where an adult male entered the hospital with a 9 month old baby girl stuck on his *****. The baby was removed, but died. When the man was asked why he did it, he stated “I was told by a witch doctor that raping a baby will cure my AIDS.”

The official rate of murder is 55 per day, unofficial statistics state its more like 175
Official rate of reported rates is 1500 per day. I dread to think what the true rate is.

Thats just the trip of the iceberg.

There was a site here called “crimexposouthafrica”, it made public to the world the crime, which caused the South African government so much embarrassment, it was forced to close.

Thats the reason we need to be armed, including weapons like the Sterlings I mentioned at the start of this thread
