New Zealand volcano erupts AP - Tue Sep 25, 11:59 PM ET
WELLINGTON, New Zealand - An erupting volcano sent ash and steam nearly three miles into the air Tuesday, while mud and rocks raced down the mountainside and injured at least three people, officials said.

and we've had several earthquakes in the past week (small ones)

oh the fun of living in the "shaky isles"

probably due to our marxist/socialist govt offending god/allah/raptor jesus

Its odd but I am not sure why these things are making the news they were that small an event.

I can see Mount Ruapehu on a fine day and still didn't know it had erupted it was over that quickly, there were no service interruptions and nothing to indicate that eruption had occurred as I recall people were skiing up there the following day.

As far as the injured guy goes didn't he get run over by a rock while sleeping?

As for the earthquakes I can honestly say I have not felt one of the current batch but we routinely get bursts of seismic activity so unless they were noticeably larger than any of the previous ones they would probably not be felt.

Ok thats a surprise

I heard zero about that too.

Thats why I never looked in this thread thinking it was a joke.
