During basic training our D.I asked "Who can ride a motorcycle?"" Being young and stupid about half a dozen of us put our hands up. The D.I. told us to report to one of the hangers where we were handed a huge broom each and told to sweep the hanger out.

Goodness no, we were trained to wear soft carpet slippers and lounge around on our beds. Sadly the SWO (RAF RSM) never brought us breakfast in bed. Miserable bugger.
