My trip to the Auckland war memorial museum

i was absolutely blown away by this on my recent trip to auckland....this was the first time i have been and im kinda ashamed it has taken me this long to go.

1st of all...some "gun porn"

this is something i thought i'd never see close up, let alone in my own country. this one was brought down by a kiwi typhoon pilot over southern england

now i freely admit by the end of the following, i was pretty close to being a bit of a wreck;

just a small section of the vast hall of names

Its a good place to visit but it is primarily a war memorial so its exhibits are pretty small that being said it is a good place to go and reflect.

Have you been through the Waiouru Army Museum at all?

They have some excellent exhibits from the New Zealand wars through to Vietnam, the family has supplied items that are shown in several of the displays (WW1, 2 and Vietnam).
