Topic: MSG Duty: Now open to Women Marines.

I just found this out the other day from a friend who is still in the Corps.
Marine Security Guard Duty, the Marines responsible for the security of United States Embassies and Consulates around the world has been opened up for Women Marines.

I leave now to ponder.

Did they reclassify it as a MP job? WM's are still not allowed to hold combat arms, right?

IMO This could get ugly if another Terhan incident happens. Don't Know.
I knew a bunch of guys with clean SRB's and sqaured away that couldn't get accepted. And a bunch that washed out of the school. I'd be intrested to know if the standards have changed.

ADDITIONALLY, WOMEN MARINES MAY BE ASSIGNED TO ANY POST WITHIN THE

MSG BATTALION WHERE THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF MSG BATTALION FEELS

THEY CAN BEST CONTRIBUTE TO MISSION ACCOMPLISHMENT. THERE ARE

CURRENTLY 117 POSTS OPEN TO WOMEN MARINES."
