Welcome Mr. Bryant. What is a VK4 operator? I am a radio amateur in the U.S. on the two-meter band ( or two-metre if you prefer). That is VHF-FM, 144-148 mghz. It is a voice band. I belong to an emergency preparedness group and we have a radio net twice each week on that band.
I'm sure that you have the same thing under a different name.
