AP - A mother says her son has emerged from what doctors thought was a vegetative state to say he was fully conscious for 23 years but could not respond because he was paralyzed.

My reason for never wanting to be "disconnected" in such a situation, actually a nightmare from youth: You want to speak but cannot, and there are ppl around you saying (you can hear in that nightmare): "Wouldn´t it be better for him if we ended this humiliating story state?"
