BOSTON--The mother of a soldier from Lawrence missing in Iraq said in a New York television interview aired yesterday that waiting to know his fate is terrible, but that she has faith he will return. Specialist Alex R. Jimenez, 25, disappeared after a May 12 ambush outside Baghdad killed four soldiers and their Iraqi interpreter. The body of another missing soldier, Private First Class Joseph Anzack Jr., 20, of Torrance, Calif., was found Wednesday. "I can't believe this happen to my son. This is too, too terrible," said Maria Jimenez, who lives in Queens. "I put it in my mind . . . that he is alive, but when you are watching TV, you can see everything, and they are looking for him. I say, 'Oh, my God, where is my son?' " she said. "When you think, 'I can never see my son again; no, my son is coming back,' " she said.
