Can anyone tell me what the colors on a missile tip for a USAF bird denote?
I've heard that Blue tips are Dummy Ordance and White tips are Live, but I've also heard the reverse. Can anyone confirm one way or another?

thanks

Typically the yellow rings are explosive munitions. I've also seen them red, but basically have the same meaning.

In the old days, our Nike Hercs had small pieces of reflective tape on the nuclear ones denoting the yield in Kt. I think 5Kt was yellow, green was. 20Kt and red was 30Kt. I don't think the HE loads were color coded.

Do you glow green at night? :)

No seriously...The blue ones are the dummies while the yellow or red ones are usually not good to drop on your toes.
