As for the military applications of these multi-tools; when my unit deployed to the sandbox, the leadership specifically banned bringing multi-tools, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Could be a uniformity thing, but we're not THAT hooah, to ban tools like that.
Strange is all I can say. I have never had a CO that said no to us bringing multi-tools. Your COs must have been smoking somethiong mor epowerful than crack. Maybe just 100% ground up idiot.
Your guess is as good as mine; all but one of our officers were cross leveled to other companies, so we've had little or no supervision for a looong time .
