A military man addresses the leaders who betrayed him

Now philam, only some are ignorant. There is a long stretch between ignorance and stupidity, ignorance is curable, the latter is inherent in some folks.:thumb:

Because people are ignorant. You can't honestly hate something you don't understand though

Well, many in the Republican Party seem to think that Coloreds are ignorant (read "stupid"); and Mexicans are ignorant; and Catholics are ignorant; and Women are ignorant: and Democrats are ignorant.... but, comes a point in time when the Small Tent (Republicans) in the very big room (the Nation) gets to be greatly outnumbered, and one has to ask "is the rest of the Nation wrong.... or are the Republicans wrong".

There is an old Russian saying that goes something like, "When elephants dance, mice should step aside." Liberalism will always be "stepping aside" in America.

All true but then didn't Franklin D. Roosevelt state that -- A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned how to walk forward, which sort of goes hand in hand with Alfred Wiggam's quote that -- A conservative is a man who believes that nothing should be done for the first time. ~

Obviously Pendry is a frustrated man, and probably with very good reason. There are few things that focus your views like watching the bits and pieces of your compatriots and friends getting needlessly sent home in caskets.

All of this argument and bloodshed could have been avoided by doing the same with Saddam as was done to several other people. Give him a Hellfire enema.

The "world" would have bitched and moaned about assassination, and in a week it would have been forgotten. The backlash would not have been as great as it is at present and we would have saved 3000+ American servicemen and women's lives, not to mention a few billion dollars of tax payers money...... Unless of course there was some possible ulterior motive?

Forget the politics and propaganda and just think about what this war is doing to your country and its people.

In my own opinion, promoting people like J.D. Pendry to the Rank of E-9 is part and parcel with why the United States Military hasn't won a Major War since 1945.
HA... keep living up to your title... its men like Pendry whose professionalism and ferocity who prevented a major hot war for our enemy fears facing men of his caliber and those he leads on the battlefield.

You dont think terrorism would have run even more rampant than it is now? Go in and assassinate their leader. It brings them all to a common cause, consolidates their hold on the people if you will. No, that would not have been a good idea.

We may not have "assassinated" Saddam, but we may as well have done. He and his sons are now dead, most of his high echelon supporters are in custody awaiting a fair trial and a hanging, and the Muslim opposition are blaming us anyway. It all could have been done without the great cost and loss of life that this war is causing. Anyway, they already had a common cause, they hate infidels, especially the USA, it would have changed nothing.

The USA has already "assasssinated" high profile terrorists using a drone and a Hellfire missile, the whole issue was forgotten in a matter of days and did not stir up any additional ill will.

You said it yourself. Had we assassinated him none of the above (bolded) would have taken place. Who knows, perhaps someone else would have stepped in to fill his shoes and been much worse.

Better the evil you know than the evil you fear?
