I've been looking for sources of good military (high) fantasy fiction, and have come up with little. My interest was to find the equivalent of the shot-and-pike era with dwarves, or The Great War with with fantasy peoples.

Is the military fantasy fiction genre really this under-saturated? If it is, I feel the urge to write a story featuring the future of Tolkien's world (or rather a world inspired by such).
