Michelle: Barak's home Country is Kenya

I don't think enough people hold their politicians feet to the fire. Every vote their politicans cast is recorded and availalbe. Pay attention to what the politicians do and hold them accountable. Often we are too busy to check up on them and take their word for it during elections. I have only voted for 1 incumbent. MY congressman is a democrat who is more conservative than any NE republican. He is pro gun too and has the A+ rating from the NRA to prove it. Other than that I examine the issues and vote based on that. Irrespective of ANYTHING else.

That`s being a responsible voter Hokie. Most are too lazy, or loyal to a specific party, to to that. I`ve always been a registered Republican, but have voted for many Democrats, Independants, etc.

Forgive me Wolfen, I don't mean to be rude but you are really going off the deep end here. And what will you do if this DOESN'T happen?

Well, I can say this, my Grandfather thought it wouldn't too, he had this VEry dynamic leader, so dynamic that people flocked in the thousands to hear him speak, he had plans to make Germany the best country in the world.

A few years later this man's govt gave my Grandfather a choice

(1) Wehrmacht

(2) Kriegsmarine

(3) Luftwaffe

(4) Auschwitz

All because my grandfather spoke out against the new policies and practices that the third Reich imposed.

the last thing he said to me while he lay on his death bed, was (quote) "Promise me you will do your best to NEVER let that happen again"

Well.........so far the administration we have in power currently shows me a lot of similarities to the Nazi party.

if it doesn't happen......then I guess I can breather a sigh of relief.

but this govt we have now just scares the hell out of me

First you have to believe he was a resident of Hawaii before you can question his social security number. I'm curious, George (no pun intended), are you this inquisitive to EVERYONE'S birthplace? Surely the Hispanic at your local grocery store doesn't get the third degree when he's checking you out at Publix.

hmmmm. last time I checked you were issued a ssn with the prefix of the state you were in, I got mine when I lived in Arkansas, I didn't have my own personal mailing address at the time cause I was only a child, so I was rwquired to use my parents mailing address, the ssn was issued with the prefix being Arkansas, so it stands to reason that Obama shoudl have one form Hawaii unless he was sin Conn when he applied for his ssn card, complete with a mailing address and residence status.
but who the hell am I? I was born and raised here in the United States, I have no right to speak bad about the socialist bastards in power. These days it would seem I need to be a citizen of another country to have any rights here.
I think I'll move. I'm thinking maybe...........Venezuela? ( hey the gas is still cheap there)

At least then your ill conceived notion of "socialist bastards in power" would be slightly more accurate.

Its not ill conceived, the U.S. govt has been a socialistic govt since 2003, THATS when the "change" happened, the congress we had befroe 2003 was bad enough, but the one we have now is the worst in U.S.history. And thanks to the division, and animosity between the demiocrats and republicans, it looks like nothing is going to be done about it.
Even if Obama tried to get rid of those people in congress they wouldn't let him, they have total control and they love it.
I fully believe that our current problems are NOT Obama's fault, and NOT Bush's fault, but that its all Congress' fault. they DO NOT work for the people , they only give a dam about them selves, and what gets them votes! wake up people our govt couldn't care less about you unless your are here illegally, then they give you every thing you want.

The truth about Obama's birth certificate.
Summary
In June, the Obama campaign released a digitally scanned image of his birth certificate to quell speculative charges that he might not be a natural-born citizen. But the image prompted more blog-based skepticism about the document's authenticity. And recently, author Jerome Corsi, whose book attacks Obama, said in a TV interview that the birth certificate the campaign has is "fake."

We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

Update, Nov. 1: The director of Hawaii’s Department of Health confirmed Oct. 31 that Obama was born in Honolulu.

This whole argument has become ludicrous and seems to be getting more and more desperate by the day, I found this kind of interesting as well...

I'm not in Az......& he isn't POTUS is he?

What does being a natural born citizen have to do with anything anyway? I know some natural born Americans who hate America more than 90% of the European population. If a man is competent enough to hold the office, he should be allowed to. Honestly, blind patriotism is a much more frightening quality of someone in the presidential office than someone who could look at things from a more objective POV.

Considering how "convinced" some of these folks are about President Obama not being a legitimate President due to his birth, there isn't a whole lot of action going on behind the tough talk.
Look at Thailand. Those guys believed they got cheated and look at the sort of fight they're putting up to overthrow the Prime Minister. And how often do you think they stroke their rifles going on about how they'll be one of the 2%ers who would fight for their liberty blah blah blah blah. Right, NEVER. The situation came and they rose to the occasion. Not saying I back them or anything but they sure as heck put their money where their mouth is.
Folks like George 0 - 1 Pissed off Thai dudes.

According to Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution, a person MUST be either a Natural born United States Citizen, OR born abroad of parents who are both Natural Born Citizens, AND that person MUST hold a United States residence for a minimum of 14 years, and be at least 35 years of age.
thats what being a natural born citizen has to do with it Rob, BUT since Obama IS a natural Born Citizen then he IS eligible to be President Qualified, is a whole different story, he may or may not be qualified, I don't know I'm not that smart to say if he's qualified or not But Hawaii has his birth record on file as required back then, and just in case anybody tries.....Hawaii was a state BEFORE Obama was born.
Just cause I don't like him doesn't mean I won;t wan the TRUE facts to be told about him. I can't stand it when people start those stupid rumors that anybody with half a brain cell can tell is wrong.

( dam........ I'm on your side this time ? )

You know whats more unbelievable. Obama Parents put a announcement of his birth in the Honolulu Advisater (announcement is below).

So to believe the birthers, it would mean that Obama's parents knew along he would be president of the United States and therefore put his birth announcement in a 1961 Honolulu newspaper to cover his real Kenyan citizenship, ignoring the fact that Kenya didn't exist as a country until 1963.

I mean I know about the Constitution and everything, but even if Obama wasn't a natural born citizen, I still would've voted for him over John McCain. Natural born citizenship shouldn't be a qualification, in my opinion.

But thank you for acknowledging that he is at least ELIGIBLE to be President.

hilarious... truly hilarious.

On a more serious note, I think if both parents were US citizens, I think even if foreign born, a person should be able to run for President. However, I do not think immigrants should be allowed to run for President.

Your welcome weather or not I like him as a president is irrelevant when it comes to his ability to be eligible, hell I'm eligible, but theres no way in hell I qualified. yea I think I could do a better job than Obama, but the only president that I ever liked was Regan.

but the citizenship is one of the things you and me will always disagree on, I fully believe that if a person is going to run a country, he should be a natural born citizen of THAT country, and that doesn't apply to just the United States either, I feel that should apply to ALL nations and Nation states.

That is odd because I think the only things that would have prevented me voting for McCain was his age and choice of VP, I am still unsure how Obama gained the reputation he has for oratory but what I heard from him through the elections were not that of genius but of a decidedly ordinary man.

That being said I would have voted for Stalin to see the back of Bush and once he was no longer an option it really didn't matter who won.

As far as it goes I do think you should keep the "Natural Born" requirement because if you get rid of it you will end up with clods like Schwarzenegger in the job through notoriety.
