Does this mean that so far, Mexico has never had any kind of troop deployment abroad (i.e. no joint training execises with AFs of other countries and no humanitarian aid relief missions)

There has been a few exceptions, and these were only for humanitarian relief.
One was for the Tsunami victims in Indonesia, this task was performed by the Mexican Navy.

The last one was for the New Orleans victims in the United States. Both Navy and army were sent to that area with humanitarian relief and
specialists.

No. They are simply not needed. Instead the army prefers wheeled armoured vehicles.

The army's tank would be the French ERC-09 LYNX

Cool! In Germany, congress had to pass a new law or something that allowed medical teams to be sent to Cambodia in '91 and food and supplies to Somalia in '93. 6 years later, they actually bombed another country though :s

Sweet . From TV, I gather that un the US, Mexican stereotypes have a reputation of being poor and lazy among some ignoramuses. They may have been well surprised to be rescued by Mexican troops. I know that Cuba also sent a lot of Doctors to NO.
