This weekend is the start of Memorial Day Weekend. A weekend that many of us take for granted. A weekend in which we all look forward to. Why? because we get days off and a chance to go to the beach or a BBQ. But that's not why we have Memorial Day Weekend.

Memorial Day is a special day. It is a day in which we all should give thanks to our brave men and women that have given their all towards our freedoms and the freedoms of others in far away lands.

To the Patriots and Soldiers that fought the British and the Hessen Troops and beating them and winning our freedoms from the Imperial Yoke of King George.

To the Sailors and Marines that fought the Barbary Pirates during the Barbary Wars and protecting American Citizens overseas.

To our citizenry that volunteered to fight the threats of Imperial Japan, Nazi Germany, and the Soviet Union before the United States became involved in World War II.

To our Brave Men and Women that fought and served in the Jungles of Vietnam. Thank your for your service. Though many think that your effort was for nothing we as a nation know what your effort truly was for. For the prevention of evils of run free through Asia and the world. Your efforts were not for nothing.

To our Marines that fought during the Mayagüez incident. It was the last battle of the Vietnam War. Even though it was the last battle it is not lessoned in value.

Great post, 5.56, and happy memorial day.

Thank you for your services, y'all.

Amen to all that 5.56. And always remember, regarding those struggles which are sometimes regarded by some as unsuccessful - your opponents never come back for more. That has been the gain for the world.

And thank you for helping save England in WW11, and thank you for saving this Englishman.

God Bless America.
