George, After reading this article, I would disagree with the title of this thread. As the author points out, the expansion of government programs, coupled with the introduction of new regulatory legislation adds uncertainty that discourages investment. Until the effects of the new legislation can be determined, investment will stagnate, thereby slowing growth. More investment dollars will be needed to maintain current capital equipment and unless additional money is spent to buy more capital equipment, growth will likely stop and may even contract. Until investor confidence is restored, the economy will continue to stagnate. Only time will tell....
