SAN DIEGO--A Marine sergeant Monday pleaded guilty in federal court to having an unauthorized fully-automatic AK47 that he brought home from Iraq.
Under a plea bargain, Sgt. Leonardo San Juan Jr., 31, of El Paso will pay a $100 fine and prosecutors will not recommend a jail sentence, although the judge is not bound by the agreement. San Juan is to be sentenced in August.
