Dow Chemical Co., Monsanto Co. and other chemical makers won an appeals court ruling upholding the dismissal of lawsuits brought by U.S. veterans of the Vietnam War and Vietnamese citizens over the spraying of Agent Orange. The federal appeals court in New York on Friday upheld decisions by a lower court in Brooklyn dismissing 17 suits against the manufacturers of the defoliant. "Agent Orange was used to protect United States troops against ambush and not as a weapon of war against human populations," Senior Circuit Judge Roger Minor wrote in upholding the dismissal of the Vietnamese citizens' claims.

It still is a nasty dangerous chemical mix that has been proven to have links to diabetes, Chronic Lymphocitic Leukemia and other forms of cancer.
