Make Mine Freedom

Ism is still alive and well.....

Except Fascism and Communism has been replaced by Statism and Obamaism.

Fascism and Communism still do exist globally so it's not like they're replaced by anything.
By dated I don't mean the threats that they're dealing with, no I think their image on Communism and Fascism is very fitting and quite accurate.
The innocent part is the part about the industry. I don't think that back in those days people had the tools that they have now. Although companies could get very big, the speed in which things happened was far slower and therefore under more control. Nowadays everything is super speed and no one can really keep up with all of it. Also the sort of wealth it can bring in is just unparalleled and these same companies that started off in a garage end up doing some pretty bad things to both their own country as well as other countries.
In short, they lack the maturity to be left entirely on their own. Some regulation is required but the cartoon obviously overlooks this.

Really? Although I am a conservative, I'm not so hot about the past 8 years. As for the current President, I'd say you have to see him work before you can judge him.

ok. fine......but look at what Bush had to be president through. As for our current president am not judging" or dissin' him that would be like doing it to myself and my country...I just simply dont believe in his current policies....

Well, most of those haven't even hit the road yet and the President has not been staying on track with many of his campaign promises as he's hit with reality and perhaps information that he never had access to previously.
I have this nagging feeling that he is actually a centrist and will alienate everyone, his former critics and his former supporters.

You got it ;)...hey we agree on sometin''' lol.

Grand pappy is loaded, those guys don't even need to work. :D

I like this video, but I think redneck already summed it up: multinationals need some regulation. Greed kills.

Everyone needs a certain level of regulation. The Romans learned that after complete freedom did the Greeks over. I believe in freedoms and rights etc., but there has to be a certain level of parameters that fit in with the program.
As citizens of a country we must have something in common and a certain sort of ethos and creed that we universally believe in or else we'll simply fall apart. It's like tolerance and freedom of belief and expression... what if a group decides that they have the freedom to not honor other peoples' freedoms and motivations and will go to great lengths to make sure that other people cater to them? They will use violence to impose their will onto the rest of the populace and when the public try to react, they use their status as "minorities" and freedom of speech and belief to fall back on. It simply doesn't work that way.
Freedom is one thing, but a sense of unity is also important. If you don't fit in with the program, it's time for you to leave, or not show up in the first place.

If he plays his position well enough he will only alienate neo-cons and the fringe left. He's a democrat not a socialist by any means.
