Sounds fishy to me. I enlisted in 84 and served with a few guys who were with the 24th MAU in October of 83. Never heard of anyone being recommended for the MOH. Let alone refusing one and having a cross hung on them instead.

Can't find a list for Navy Cross's awarded between RVN and GWI.

Have you got unit?

LtCol James Stoughton USMC (Ret.)? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Who the dingbang is he - never heard of him and can find NO definitive proof that gunnyg's post is accurate or that LtCol ever existed. I definitely view anything which is quoted from wikipedia with a little skepticism.

A newsletter that I subscribe to, had an article today that states in part: "The political gamesmanship has started. Information has surfaced that politicians are going to the wikipedia website and making changes to their personal biographies. What they are doing is changing bad information into something which reflects favorably on themselves. As if that weren't bad enough, some of them are pulling up their competitor's bios and making entries that place a black mark against their opponent".

How can you trust info from wikipedia after reading that little article?
