Considering TomTom is a retired USAR LTC, I'm pretty sure it was tongue-in-cheek.
 
In the photo on the wall (in the video) he was wearing a tan beret with a 1st Special Forces Group flash and no crest. Not to mention his beret was backwards and I won't even mention how he rolled his sleeves. He is also sporting a Special Forces patch instead of the 75th Scroll.

There are a lot of people working on this. He's claimed to have been awarded the bronze star, which is a federal offense, so there is at least one charge against him in the works.

IVAW (Iraqi Veterans Against the War) will also take a hit on this. The fact that, amongst claimed service members, he was allowed to participate when his accounts and basic military knowledge were so flawed even a DEPper could see through it will not speak well for them.

I have served in Iraq and I can tell anyone that may lend credence to what this chucklehead has to say that he's completely and totally full of shit. The other members on this board that have served in Iraq as well can back me up on this.

This guy is going to get his comeuppance, he has managed to piss off some pretty influential people.

Few things make me truly pissed off and that crap he spouted in the interview is now number one with a bullet. IVAW is obviously not vetting their members. Socialist.org is now in receipt a "suggestion" showing them the same links but doubtful they will retract this twit's crap from their site since it fits their pre-formed agenda to a T. The name change is very instructive. I truly hope they nail this punk's ******* to the wall.

If you live in Beverly Hills, have 10 maids and butlers to do your work, and get straight A's at your magnum school w/o studying, dont come to me and say youve had a hard life. A lot of these sites are removing his video and interviews because they've realized he is a liar. Many thought he was "real" and took his story for truth, esp. those sites that are against the war in Iraq, they figured they hit the gold mine.

Objective reporting just doesn't happen anymore. Writers have to "spice up" articles with hyperbole, blatant exaggerations, and sometimes just plain bull corn. Now, if I was back from Iraq, I would probably break the fingers of the reporter that wanted to speak with me. No questions asked.

God I hate the media these days.
