THE AIR FORCE ACADEMY is also known by the nickname "The Blue Zoo." It wasn't until late in my freshman year that I came to understand why. I was returning from class via the "special" strip on which freshmen must walk at attention, eyes straight ahead. As I passed by the chapel where tourists had gathered to watch the noon meal formation, I could hear them talking.
"Hey, look!" one man yelled. "There's a female one!"
