Topic: Well...

The one thing I know about the army is that most people i know enjoyed it....But you have to remmember that the army has a lot of annoying beaurocracy, ineffeciancy and what i call "system-dumbness". What i mean is that while it is a great thing to do for your self, and your country, its also very diffacult. Its true that i havent served yet(1.5 years before i turn 18 and will be conscripted...), but my grandfather was Lt. Colonel, My father and mother were both Lt. Colonels, aftter my parents divorced my mother married a Cololnel and my sister and i have 4 brothers and sisters who were officers,so i know the military....You got to keep in mind it will be frustrating(i saw my sister almost snap under the presure...) and your gonna have to work with people you dont neceserally like like, and learn to trust them....Espcially in field duty.... If you know all this, and still want to be in the Military, then you have a lucky country....

CrazyCadet.. You mean I sound like I am going to commit suicide?

Sorry if it sounds like that, but that is not my intention.

I have my downhills sometimes, not often, but they come sometimes..

And you must know the feeling of standing and not getting anywhere with your life..

And Sherman, Yeah I know military is hard and it isn't always fun. And I ain't looking for any fun situations in the army.

And my father and me had a looooooong discussion about US, military and all otheer things..

And I realized, military services where you are trained for shooting the enemies in war isn't my thing..

I am still heading for field-medic. even though my father wants me in the military to defend sweden.

But I realized, the best gift and thing I can bring to Sweden is to be the field-medic.

And if I would work like that, I would problaby go for UN as well, to work for them.

But as how things look now, I will just have to wait and see.

You can tell your father that you defend Sweden just as good as a Field-medic as you do in a combat unit!
Good medics is one of the most important thing to bring with you, it really helps the morale to know that your medic knows his/her stuff good!

Did Chesty Puller's division include medics when they annhilated 7 divisions? Oh and another stupid question, have they made a movie on his feats? The quote on the site is the first I actually heard about what made him a legend to the marines.
