Has anyone been to the Liberty Memorial? The US WWI monument?
I went last weekend, and though the museum is not open and you cannot see the exhibits, it is going to be an amazing museum by what you can see.

Thanks!

The monument is on top. There is a tall tower and two sphynxes. The tower has an elevator. http://academic.emporia.edu/aberjame/airphoto/title.htm

The museum is below. It will be circular. The top will be glass and there is a glass floor with dirt from France and Belgium where they will plant poppies. There will be a life-size virtual trench. The lecture hall is open now. It is very nice with stadium seating.
They said they just hung several of the airplanes, but we could not see them. There will be a tank and field pieces. As you walk in, there will be large screen tvs with pictures of individuals from the War. They will be interactive and tell you that person's war story.

They are shooting for a November 11 opening.

It is only WWI.
It is the United States official WWI monument. It was dedicated in 1921. In attendance were Lieutenant General Baron Jacques of Belgium; General Armando Diaz of Italy; Marshal Ferdinand Foch of France; General John J. Pershing of the United States; and Admiral Lord Earl Beatty of Great Britain. They finished bulding in 1923.
The museum closed in the 80s, I think, then opened again in a truncated form. They have remodled it, and it will open again in November.
