The Korean War has been called the forgotten war by many. Many people don't know about the many nations who sent their armed forces and other support in that war. You can also add the nation of South Africa to the list They sent a squadron of P-51 Fighters to support the effort. |

The 101st Airborne wasn't activated at the time. A possibility is that he was with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. The 187th regiment became part of the newly reactivated 101st Airborne Division in '55. The 187th would go on to fight with the 101st in Vietnam and are still attached to the Screaming Eagles to this day and are currently deployed in Iraq.
