Israel's Secret Wars: The Untold History Of Israeli Intelligence. Ian Black and Benny Morris. New York: Grove Weidenfeld, 1991, 608 pp. $24.95

I'm reading this. Great book about the Mossad and Israeli Secret Services.

Sure. It accurately describes the history of the Mossad from the early 20's-30's to the 1990's (I don't think archives files and records about recent years are available, so that makes up for an actually "recent book" given the subject).
It's a balanced book, not an anti-Israeli point of view but there are also many examples of failures and dirty ops.
I'm now reading about the first CIA- MOSSAD contacts, and the Mossad/Shin Bet clashes.
I'm finding the book a huge source of information, names, data. I'm learning a lot on how a secret service develops thru major setbacks or improvements. How bureaucracy has an impact on it. How it tries to develop connections with the rest of the world, and one of the best aspect is when it tries to explain you the different tactics for employing a spy.
Definitely worth it.
