Iraq is a failed project.

Its infuriaturates me to think that only now they might be getting the message on something everybody else has known for years.

And I am still not conviced this administration will change anything.

I have found that if you listen to the news you will see the picture they have painted...That picture being we are all doomed and the world will end, which is simply not true....

If you dont listen to the news you will be uninformed.
I dont disagree that news media is biased but that bias swings both ways depending on the organisation, in Iraqs case I find it hard to believe that things really are rosey and its all a big media conspiracy.

However on the Iraq issue I agree with Tony Blair at this stage and say that pullng out now would be the worst thing to do, I dont believe Iraq is unwinnable but it is going to take a very different mindset to do it.

If you listen to the liberal media you hear that we are doomed. If you listen to the conservative media (fewer in number than the liberal by far) you hear that all is well.

It is truly a shame that news can't be reported as is and let us decide what it actually means as when the world was younger. Today the media has turned news into a production to garner ratings and not accurately report the news.

In my opinion the best source of what is going on can be found by talking first hand to those that have been over there. You have a percentage that see the glass as half empty and another percentage that see it as half full.

Things are not as good or as bad as is reported by the media outlets.

If you want left listen to the big 3. If you want right listen to Fox. If you want the best and most accurate news listen to returning soldiers face to face.

To comment on your first line above. If you listen to the news you have a higher probability of being MISinformed than informed. They all have their angles and what their networks want to broadcast.

It is truly a shame that a once honorable profession has fallen prey to the political machine in America.

The media worldwide has the same problem, sensationalism sells and facts are usually not sensational.

I guess what we need to find out is how do we return to respectable reporting.

I know, just give the actual facts using nude women with big boobs! We probably can't do that, then nobody would be informed, at least the men and the lesbians won't have any good information.

A few years ago it began with: Weapons of Mass destruction, Al-Hussein Scuds, Saddam Hussein, Saddam Hussein's Ba'ath Party, Iraq, Iraq, Iraq...

Iraq will is faulier cause neocons wanted a war that would make Republican look like strong GWOT but in reality they have no clear strategy for getting out Iraq with honor.

Classic "chinglish".
Care to explain wtf "faulier" means?
Also once that is sorted just what does "Iraq will is faulier"?
:type:

If you have not listened to the President's Saturday morning radio address you need to hear what he had to say.

I do know the liberals have cut portions of the speech and made it sound like the opposite of what he said, but when listening to the whole speech you can get a little better grasp of why we do need to remain involved.

I'll look for a transcript to post, but what I heard makes all of the liberals that want to cut and run sound like uninformed jerks. (as for the liberals I speak of it's those in office and not any liberals that might be posting on this board. Unless, of course, you are one of the elected officials that are doing the twisting)

Its hard to explain Iraq, its hard for me to describe my opinion, there is so many elements, and complex situations, that go back for decades, Militant Isalm has been fighting us for far longer than we have been fighting them.

i agree that the news nowadays is overly sensational, but that is what happens when you have 5 24-hour news networks. as for iraq i think they are borrowing some of the north vietnamese tactics of underminig support for the war, and are doing very well with it. i also think it is time for the US to reevaluate the plan, and come up with a different approach. oh, and i would also like to know what "faulier" means.

Isn't that French for "who you are ******** now?" ;)

International plea

Meanwhile, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Saleh on Monday urged international forces to remain even in the face of the violence, saying it was no time to panic.

"I have to say, because there is too much of a pessimistic tone to this debate -even I would say in certain circles a defeatist tone," Saleh told the British Broadcasting Corp. before meeting in London with Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Bartlett, appearing on ABC's "Good Morning America," said the top commanders there have not asked for more troops, "but President Bush has made clear if they want them, they'll get them."

Nope we should just pull out, leave, and go completely against what it means to be American...

The problem is that studying period can be from a few days to advanced years depending on where you are when they strike again.
