Tehran, Dec 26, IRNA-Iran's Government Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said on Monday that Russia as well as other world countries can participate in Iran's peaceful nuclear program within the framework of Iran's proclaimed principles.
Making the remark at a press conference attended by both domestic and foreign correspondents, he reiterated that the Iranian government has clarified its position on the issue for several times.
He said Iran's views are based on three principles of conducting uranium enrichment inside the country, setting up an atmosphere of trust and providing objective guarantees to the international community on the peaceful nature of enrichment activities in accordance with internationally-recognized regulations.
He said Iran has already announced the domain of its nuclear activities as a commercial one in which foreign investments would be welcomed.
As for Iran's legal action against the US in the International Court of Justice in the Hague regarding confiscation of billions of dollars worth of Iran's assets in America, he said the new government is following up the issue.
He further noted that the Americans, given their inherent characteristic of evading their commitments and taking abnormal measures, are now trying to influence the court in order not to restore Iranians' rights.
According to the spokesman, several top legal experts were working at the Presidential Office to give necessary legal advice on the issue. Elham said the government would undoubtedly never allow the rights of the Iranian nation to be violated by the US.

I think if Russia agrees to this then the negotiation for both EU and West would be a success and we could finnaly produce high amount of low grade uranium. It won't just be Russia, I'm sure alot of country's would be interested... anyone think so it would work out?.

IF YOU BUY INTO THIS BALONEY,
DO I HAVE A BRIDGE JUST FOR YOU.

I can recognize state sanctioned press releases from a mile away and this post has all of those earmarks.

Iran will NEVER be satisfied until they have nuclear weapons they can use against Israel and surrounding "enemy" nations.

Marwan has been placed on my personal "Ignore" list for his complete negativism.

sure doesn't hope so! that government should NEVER be in control of nuclear weapons.. why u ask? well... first of all they(he) said that Israel should be wiped off the map... should i continue?

its not that we're 100% sure that they will develop nuclear weapons, its just that they should NEVER have the opportunity. Iran is ruled by extremeists and Iran is the number 1 supplyer to the terrorists in Iraq... imagine what they would do with a nuke?

imo Iran is digging their own grave! sadly

Fact: Iran is producing uranium hexafluoride as fast as it can.

Fact: Based on the type of reactor,Iran does not need uranium hexafluoride for its "peaceful" nuclear program.

Fact: Iran is running a specialized type of centerfuge (we know this because of the electronic signature it gives off has been picked up by electronic monitoring assets).

Fact: Uranium hexafluoride + the specialized centerfuge = Weapons grade material. Once again, based on reactor type, Iran has no peaceful need for.

Marwan sir, you are either blind, or you think the rest of the thinking world is. It is truly sad that a country with such a long and proud history is doing its best to commit suicide because its leadership cares about nothing other than spreading the word of "The religion of peace and tolerance".

Iran rejects it

http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/library/news/iran/2005/iran-051225-rferl01.htm

Notice the statement: "the right of the Islamic republic to carry out enrichment on its own soil.", Irans intensions for this party is set a long time ago.

Iran Rejects Moscow Offer To Enrich Uranium In Russia

Tehran, 25 December 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Iran today rejected an offer from Russia to enrich uranium for its nuclear program in Russia.

Russia's Foreign Ministry repeated the offer yesterday, saying it would be possible for a joint Russian-Iranian project to enrich the uranium for use in Iranian reactors on Russian territory instead of in Iran.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said at a news conference today that Tehran had still not received a concrete offer from Russia.

"Regarding the [Russian nuclear] plan you are talking about -- some ideas have been mentioned about it, but we have not yet received any specific proposal," he said.

But Asefi said in any case the Iranian government wanted to exercise "the right of the Islamic republic to carry out enrichment on its own soil."

Iran's nuclear program has raised concerns among many countries, particularly the U.S., which says Tehran is using the program to secretly develop nuclear weapons.

Russia has been helping Iran build nuclear power facilities and has tried to act as a mediator between Iran and countries opposed to Iran's nuclear program.

The bottom line is that Iran has every right under the NPT to enrich uranium. While the Bush administration replays the lies used to convince its own population that invading a sovereign nation in breach of international law was a justifiable act of self defense, the rest of world (and a growing number of Americans) are finding this second round of blind propaganda alittle too much to stomach.

The current US junta lacks credibility after the debacle of Iraq and the symptoms of this malaise are all too aparant in the loss of US influence in key geographic areas, for instance to Russia and China in Central Asia, to a growing socialist movement across Latin America and most daming, to Iran in the middle east.

The more insistent the US and Israel are that Iran is trying to build a bomb without the providing anything more than the internal mossad memos on the subject, the less credible the claims become. Not to metion of course that both of the countries already have these weapons, one with the unenviable reputation of having used them and the other with an equally repugnant refusal to acknowledge it has them, why should anyone believe anything these parties have to say on this matter....

Herein lies the problem of the boy he cried wolf. Bush Jr lied about the reasons for going to war. Granted he is not alone but his mouth was the last one running when his hand touched the trigger so he gets credit for it even if it wasn't his own original thought. Problem is now with that and the various other problems with ethics and a loss of credibility the US has lost at least some measure of influence. It certainly has a palpable loss in influence when compared to the days when I was in uniform and the CINC was Dubya's dad. So now we have Iran which is more likely than not arming itself with the most powerful weapon known to man and spouting forth vile diatribes of hate that makes North Korea's Kim Il Jung look like a rank amatuer and the US does not have the street cred around the world to muster any action. Putin has smelled this and hence his late reversal on all things Muslim. He's smart and he has sensed a weakness and a "window of opportunity" for both his pocket and Russia. Damn Bush and his myriad of spin doctors, advisors and just all arouund bull:cen: artists for doing this to himself and us.

Marwan and Uncle Sam.

Do a search and read all of Phoenix80s posts. You just might learn something abvoiut Iran. That is, if you're able to get past your anti-American fanaticism.
