January 27, 2008 Iran has received nearly all the initial nuclear fuel it needs for a light-water power plant in Bushehr with the arrival of a seventh shipment from Russia, state media said. The plant is to open this summer. The United States opposed Russian participation in building and supplying the reactor, but reversed its position about a year ago to win Moscow's support for the first U.N. sanctions against Iran. New proposed sanctions would ban trade in equipment and technology that can be used in both civilian and nuclear programs.
