iPhone 4 Reception Issue?

I don't know if this is a case of reception bars not being displayed correctly or a genuine issue with the antenna.

The following video can describe the issue better. Holding the iPhone 4 in your hands with your fingers touching the antenna seems to immediately and consistently send the bars plummeting.

YUP, its confirmed. Its due to a crap antenna. You see, Apple is one of the very few companies that still uses a external antenna. You don't see it because its wrapped around the phone inside the case. So if its poor quality your hand might provide enough interference to block the reception. How this rather obvious bug got by Q and A is a mystery.

Thanks for this TI, I have a iphone on pre-order, I will delay my purchase until this is resolved..

UPDATE: There is a fix, but it will cost an extra $30. You need to buy the Apple Bumper, its a rubber sleave that wraps around the iphone. Its suppose to be a anti-shock but it also creates a barrier between the phone and persons hand which prevents the human body from interrupting the signal.

From reading some articles, most experts think the issue can be solved via a software patch.
