If anyone of you is interested, I can put some German Military Songs up here.
I will also try to translate them...

Horrido

Westerwald-Lied (Song of the Westerwald)

One of the probably most well-known military songs in Germany.

1. Heute wollen wir marschieren
Einen neuen Marsch probieren
|: In dem schönen Westerwald
Ja da pfeift der Wind so kalt. : |

Chorus:
Oh du schöner Westerwald
Über deine Höhen pfeift der Wind so kalt
Jedoch der kleinste Sonnenschein
Dringt tief in’s Herz hinein.

2. Und die Gretel und der Hans
Geh’n des Sonntags gern zum Tanz
|: Weil das Tanzen Freude macht
Und das Herz im Leibe lacht. : |

Chorus:

3. Ist das Tanzen dann vorbei
Gibt’s gewöhnlich Keilerei
|: Und dem Bursch’ den das nicht freut
Man sagt der hat kein Schneid. : |

Chorus:

Translation:

1. Today we want to march
to try a new march
|: in the beautiful Westerwald where
the wind whistles so coldly: |

Chorus:
Oh you beautiful Westerwald
over your heights the wind whistles so coldly
however the smallest sunshine
penetrates the heart deeply.

2. And the Gretel and the Hans
Gladly went on Sundays to the dance
|: because dancing is fun
and the heart in the body laughs: |

Chorus:

3. If the dance ends
there´s usually a fight
|: and the Guy that´s not happy about it
one says that he has no gumption: |

Chorus:

Ich hatt einen Kameraden (I had a comrade)

The Funeral March of the German Armed Forces

Ich hatt' einen Kameraden,
Einen bessern findst du nit.
Die Trommel schlug zum Streite,
Er ging an meiner Seite
|: In gleichem Schritt und Tritt. : |

Eine Kugel kam geflogen:
Gilt's mir oder gilt es dir?
Ihn hat es weggerissen,
Er liegt vor meinen Füßen
|: Als wär's ein Stück von mir : |

Will mir die Hand noch reichen,
Derweil ich eben lad'.
"Kann dir die Hand nicht geben,
Bleib du im ew'gen Leben
|: Mein guter Kamerad!" : |

Translation:

In battle he was my comrade,
None better I have had.
The drum called us to fight,
He always on my right,
|: In step, through good and bad. : |

A bullet it flew towards us,
For him or meant for me?
His life from mine it tore,
At my feet a piece of gore,
|: As if a part of me. : |

His hand reached up to hold mine.
I must re-load my gun.
"My friend, I cannot ease your pain,
In life eternal we’ll meet again,
|: And walk once more as one." : |

Rosemarie

Es ist so schön Soldat zu sein, Rosemarie,
Nicht jeder Tag bringt Sonnenschein, Rosemarie,
Doch du, du bist mein Talisman, Rosemarie,
Du gehst in allem mir voran, Rosemarie.

Chorus:
|: Soldaten sind Soldaten
In Worten und in Taten,
Sie kennen keine Lumperei
Und sind nur einem Mädel treu,
Valleri, Valleralle ralle ra!
Rosemarie. : |

Chorus

3. In Treue fest für immerdar, Rosemarie,
Geh'n beide wir zum Traualtar, Rosemarie,
Und reichen uns zum Bund die Hand, Rosemarie,
In Treue fest fürs Vaterland, Rosemarie.

Chorus

Listen to it HERE!

Translation:

It's great to be a soldier, dear Rosemarie,
Not ev'ry day brings sunny cheer, Rosemarie,
But you, you are my Talisman, Rosemarie,
In ev'rything you guide my hand, Rosemarie.

Chorus:
A soldier is forever bold,
His word and deed are good as gold.
He knows no cause to fool around
Once his one, true girl he has found,
Valleri, Valleralle ralle ra! Rosemarie.

Two years will pass so quickly here, Rosemarie,
And when again to you I'm near, Rosemarie,
It's you I'll kiss and idolize, Rosemarie,
From now on you will be my prize, Rosemarie.

Chorus:

With faith ever-abiding through, Rosemarie,
We'll both approach the altar true, Rosemarie,
United to your loving hand, Rosemarie,
In loyalty to Fatherland, Rosemarie.

Chorus:

Navy Boy said:
That's pretty cool to bad I don't speak german, ill be takeing the class
next year. :bravo:
´

That would be fine...
I´m learning English for 8 years now and I still think it´s not good enough

I'm sure its fine. If you are ever in America, just tell people you grew up in a bad neighborhood. This will make them think you just have a "Ghetto Dialect", it might work :D

My favourite one:

Gäb es nur eine Krone

Gäb es nur eine Krone
wohlan, ich schenkte sie,
der Tapferkeit zum Lohne,
der deutschen Infanterie.

Sie hat den Ruhm,
der nie vergeht,
der ewig in
den Sternen steht,
sich vor der ganzen Welt erworben.

|:Mit Waffen leicht, mit Waffen schwer,
Kompanie an Kompanie,
ist sie die Königin im Heer,
die deutsche Infanterie. : |

Gäb es von Sieg und Sterben
nur eine Melodie,
sie müßt gesungen werden,
der deutschen Infanterie.

Ein Lied, das aus
den Gräben hallt,
ein Lied, das durch
die Zeiten schallt,
von Helden die da starben.

|:Mit Waffen leicht, mit Waffen schwer,
Kompanie an Kompanie,
ist sie die Königin im Heer,
die deutsche Infanterie. : |

Auch unsre Väter standen,
in einer Kompanie,
und wenn ein Lied sie sangen,
galt es der Infanterie.

Sie hat den Ruhm,
der nie vergeht,
der ewig in
den Sternen steht,
sich vor der ganzen Welt erworben.

|:Mit Waffen leicht, mit Waffen schwer,
Kompanie an Kompanie,
ist sie die Königin im Heer,
die deutsche Infanterie. : |

If there was only one crown

If there was only one crown
I gave it
as wage for braveness
to the german infantery.

It has the glory,
that never goes by,
that's written
in the stars for eternity,
acquired in front of the whole world.

|:With light weapons,
with heavy weapons,
companys together,
it is the Queen of the Army
the german infantery. : |

If there was just one tune
of victory and diing
it had to be sung
to the german infantery

A tune that comes
out of the graves
a tune, that sounds
through the times
of heroes, that died

|:With light weapons,
with heavy weapons,
companys together,
it is the Queen of the Army
the german infantery. : |

Like we our fathers had been
together in one company
and if they sang a tune
it was for the infantery

|:With light weapons,
with heavy weapons,
companys together,
it is the Queen of the Army
the german infantery. : |

maybe my translation is not the best, so if you don't understand anything I will correct it.
