Check it out!

Real clowning, should i say? Quite alternative and non-common bodyguard training.

But that one guy used his pistol pretty well.

It means they're that tough. And if you met one in hand to hand combat, you'd be finished. Basically whatever kick or blow you land on that guy that would hurt the living daylights out of a normal dude, wouldn't affect him half as much.

it is rumoured that they learn from chinese kong-fu masters on hand combat and "internal-air" skill (so ppl can throw a shovel at u and u r still ok)

Or i finish him by assault rifle before he gets at close range. All is matter of training subjects to concentrate on. Which one is more sane to use training time on: good weapon use or chopping concrete? That kind of trained toughness and circus shows won't help anymore when hits the same route with bullet or artillery shell.

well if u say that, then its nearly the same in the old days, u get killed by with a bow and arrow.

Ok, that kind of toughness and skills may have been necessary in middle age when most of combat was hand-to-hand, but in modern warfare and firepower they are likely for only very marginal use. There is a lot of much more important skills to train than chopping concrete and taking hits.

And about body guard training, i can bet that even any civilian private security company/corporation can give more professional training than N-Koreans shown on the video. How much do they give escort training or person protection which both are quite important skills in body guard's work? Video doesn't give the answer and like usually there will be only less information available about N-Korean training systems.

but do u really think they would show their full potential in that vid? u got to know NK is very secrative about everything.

i dun think some company can provide better, they are trained using the countries' funds. and also they might be trained from birth. so u never know, but definately better than the ones u get from a company.

Toughness certainly is a useful skill in modern combat. If you can handle having a shovel tossed at you, or the pain of breaking through cinder blocks, chances are pretty good you're able to fight through bullet wounds too.

Also, bodyguard divisions in armies are often more ceremonial and symbolic than militarily effective. So by becomming profficiant in HtH combat they are showing their martial prowess in Korean Tradition.

Yes, so it seems to be. But if talked about real bodyguards with real value, should choose needed number of suitable gorilla sized men and train them properly to bodyguard duty. Training subjects could concentrate on escort duty, VIP protection, guarding, weapon use, hand-to-hand-combat etc. usefull skills for situations they could face in real life, not circus shows and concrete chopping. Ok, i know well that belongs to local culture and no offence against that, everyone has his own way to go.

First, let the martial artist go through his warmups and squeals, then give him a 9mm enema.

I was watching the History channel (as always) and some of our ex and present troops who served at the meeting place, can't remember the name, where the cease fire was signed, were telling of their experiences with the NK troops. American soldiers have been ambushed and killed through the years but always by a gang of their guards. One-on-one is a no-no for NK guards because our troops are specially chosen for size, over 6 ft tall and brawny build. This is meant to humiliate and intimidate NK guards and it works very well because there has never been an incident between one-on-one. One of the US guards said he prayed for one of the NKs to make a mistake and get too close to him.

You know. Unless the American soldiers concerned have hand-to-hand combat training and are *good* at it (assuming they have and they are) size does not really matter if you are fighting someone well trained in practical martial arts. Unless there's a really stupid difference in size and even that can be overcome. Witness Royce Gracie in the UFC beating men who outweighed him by over 100 pounds in some cases.

The breaking of implements over various parts of the body is really for show. I'd imagine his bodyguards have some kind of akido/ju-jitsiu style training which does not require brute strength or size to make effective. If you haven't been trained to escape from chokes/locks/strangles or cannot grapple you will be at a *severe* disadvantage with these guys.

There are some American units who get training from Royce Gracie. If you know his matches then you know using common martial arts against him is futile. I agree that getting close to these guys wouldn't be smart, not for the average infantry man anyways.

they also get intense political training.....

and they probably are willing to die for Kim

Like all N-Koreans do, known as "brainwash". Dying for that Kim jong jang whatever f**a** is not worth of it, IMHO.

"then give him a 9mm enema."

Which won't help him if he hasn't practised to use it.

"The breaking of implements over various parts of the body is really for show. I'd imagine his bodyguards have some kind of akido/ju-jitsiu style training which does not require brute strength or size to make effective."

But needs about 10 years intensive training and experimence to handle them properly, specially eastern martial arts like ju-jutsu, aikido, taekwondo etc.

Once again all is matter of cost/effect relationship. What sane to use 10 years to train martial arts master when neighbour uses a year or couple of to train a SOF unit which uses HtH fighter masters as their personal asswipes in real situation? Or eliminates the VIP target while protecting martial art masters are showing their skills in chopping concrete? All would be only waste of money, resources and time.

Is for example George W. Bush protected by N-Korean style martial art masters?

" I agree that getting close to these guys wouldn't be smart, not for the average infantry man anyways."

Yeah, i agree. Only a few infantrymen is martial art master to match another, but he doesn't need to be because being that isn't the primary task and he can finish HtH masters by his bullets.

u got to know NK are humans too, they would definately have tested their IQ before becoming Kim's protector. Just because they are "hard" dun mean tehy have to be thick. Kim placed his saftey very highly, so i wouldnt think he would be so foolish to have a dumb brute next to him. they are properly trained and have brains like the delta forces. or the german GSG-9 (expert in protecting a important person).

I'm not saying that at all. I'm sure they are very good body guards.

If you were good and trained a LOT you could probably be pretty good at ju-jitsu in 2-3 years. I know because it's what I practise in.
