As you may or may not know, India is looking to buy 126 Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MRCA). The link i have posted was the best/most recent resource i could find on it. I wanted to ask people on the forums here for their (usually expert) opnions on what they think of the various contendors.

"The original intent of India's fighter purchase was to replace hundreds of non-upgraded MiG-21s that India will be forced to retire, with a complementary force of 126 aircraft to go with India's high end Su-30MKIs, and its low-end Tejas LCA lightweight fighter."

The contendors include-

F-16 (USA)
JAS-39 Gripen (Sweden)
MiG-35 (Russia)
Mirage 2000-5 (France) ----- this is no longer being offered.
Eurofighter Typhoon (Europe)
F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet (USA)
Rafale (France)

As strongly pointed out by the article, India might end up going in for a mix of 2 air-craft types. I'm currently leaning towards MiG-35 and/or F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet.
Any thoughts, opinions or comments would be really appreciated!
Thanks!

The two you meantioned are definatly the best MRCA in that list. But, it depends on how much each costs and all kinds of other factors. But, if I were india, the two you meantioned would be my top choices.
