india's problem is just same as China's...

both countries are taking time to digest those modern weapons into its present system and keep up maintance and training facilities with those state-of-art stuff

however, i belive that china's military response from an attack or the amount of power china possesses to continue a long war is alot higher than india's

wonder why china's called the world's factory??? china has alot more factories and production lines than india, china has many automobile assembily lines that produce chevy, volkswagon and other carsr. china also has a modest yet good capacity rail and highway system

these industrial potentials surpasses the ones india owns by alot, however, you can debate me on that, because as you can see no one really know alot about industrial capabilities in india and cars produced in india??? never heard of

*automobile facatories are key places to produce tanks and other military vehicles

Gingerbread,

First of all you must understand the psysiognomy to understand the capability of what China can do to India.

I am afraid you have not understood the same. It is not a mathematical equation. A read of Race to the Swift by Brig Simpkin would ahve helped.

I disagree that India cannot repair Russian equipment. Most equipment are on techological transfer.

well first of all u must understand that urself too. india has recently send millions of money for russia to repair its russian weaponry. technological transfer and repairing cannot be the same, cos the logic is flawed. Uk have teh technology to send a man into space not to mention germany and france too (since alot of NASA scientist are german) but that's doesnt mean they could due to resource and infrastructure.

india's infrastructure is still in an infant stage, and what also brings it down because of india's economy and literacy rate. not to mention how many can go into a university to do an engineering degree and enter the army too? u got to know india's army is huge, and about 40% of india's population are iliterate. compare to china's 9%, not to mention china's population is higher than india's too, brings the number even less for india's army size. and think, 40 % only probaly a few percent who can afford and have the education to go into uni. then entering the army and doing something related is very minimal, its not rocket science to understand this, its common sense.

not to mention the quality of india's factory, why do u think china is called the "world's factory"?

china's army is modernising faster than india's, not to mention its type 96 and 98G is one of the best tank in the world and to use the first laser tracking system. if u want to know what china can do to india, well it can destroy the world with her nukes. but on conventional terms, read on china's army's doctrine and china's army thread.

also china's missile technology is very advance, well, china successfully launched a men into space, which involved alot of complex technology and also large amount of resource. not to mention it could reach every corner of the world way before india developed this ablility to do so.

in 1962 war, not to mention india is better than china in its production and in terms of weapons etc....... but the chinese still beaten india. so if u want to compare today, its a major gap nowadays.

as i said, china has taken off a much bigger rate than india. back int he 60s india's GDP is still higher than china. in fact if u count from 1949, china produce half of what india produce, but now it produces 3 times more? need to say anymore?
