Indian Army Training pictures

Re: REPUBLIC DAY PARADE

At least indians and chinese can do awesome parades! How much practise that kind of parades need to be succesfull and how much are they trained before? I mean units marching on foot, if someone has been in those parades?

Hi Eurospike.

The parades carry on the regemental traditions established in the founding of the modern Indian army. They incorporate decorative and incredibly coreographed marches that fuse the best of Royal Indian Army and Indian military traditions. Each regiment, infantry, armoured, mechanized or air have their own unique dress and marches.

Drill formation is a very exact science in the Indian military, and is an integral part of regimental training, moreso than in British and American militaries. It's used to tech regimental standards, create regimental loyalty, increase unit cohesion and instill discipline.

But how much are that kind of parade drills trained and how it is possible to get a hundred men in each rows and get them march correctly in same time? That must be f*cking difficult and trained at least few times because even 10 times smaller formations need a lot of training and are easily screw up anyway.

We don't have special parade traditions and drills are trained only enough to fill basic needs like to get the whole bunch from point A to point B in formation like from barracks to mess hall. Of course all rows and lines are adjusted to be straight and falling in from quarter rooms trained to be fast. Usually some extra time is reserved for train that s*it, from rooms to formation -> back to rooms -> formation -> rooms -> formation and so on about dozen times and gets everyone to piss of :D

Basic stuff, platoons standing in three rows, basic commands: attention, dress, eyes front, present arms, shoulder arms, right face, left face, about face, forward march and platoon halt and others and seems like in this photo taken from camp Ville KFOR. Looks very simple and less awesome but fills the needs.

parade is a good way for ppl to know some new weapons of a country

like ppl know that China is able to send missiles to U.S when Chinese showed their DF-5 in their parade in 1986..

or we know the new chinese missiles DF-31 or new tank Type-98 through the parade in 1999...

it is a good way to inspire a whole country and also show their military might to other nations..

and i totally agree to the India buddy said above me

i like the variety of cultural troops representing parts of india's multiethenic groups

wuts the diff between new delhi and old delhi, is it the same city or is it like old delhi was destroyed and new delhi was built uponj it?

Hi,

Delhi Map

http://www.lonelyplanet.com/mapshells/indian_subcontinent/delhi/delhi.htm

The map Clearly Shows Where Old Delhi is and Where new Delhi is .

The Cental parts comprising Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk and surrowinding Areas are part of Old Delhi ...................whic is there since the Mugal Era ( 16 th Century )...............if you venture into them you will get a taste of the Mugal Artictures the Buldings still have that Mugal Touch.

Rest is the New Delhi which was Built Later........ ( then there is Outer Delhi and South Delhi and etc etc many more ) ............... :)

And New delhi was not Built Upon Old Delhi ..................just extended newer Areas and Called them New .

Parts of outer delhi are Just called Delhi .............neither old or New ...... ;)

Peace

oo i get it

umm... interesting thing is its not built like all the other cpitals in the world, whereas the city is like a fortress with ring roads and suburbas surrounding the city in a circular form

nways, care to create a thread of pics of modern india, i know some of us tend to think of india as smelly and people stuffed on trains that people had to stand on top of cars, but how is it now, what is it like, a pic is a thousand word

Hi,

ooooo and while you are Looking at the map ..................let me tell ou this Parade starts form India Gate and ends at Red Fort .................Approx 9 kilometers ( 5.59234073 miles) Away .

BTW: **Sniff** **Sniff** But we are Smelly People ;)

Peace
