The Government wants to increase the military activity in Northern Norway, both at sea and on shore, says Defence Minister Anne-Grete Stroem-Erichsen.
At the same time, other NATO-countries are doubling their exercise activities in the region.
The Defence Minister says that the military activity will be increased to emphasize that this is a strategically important region for Norway.
