How would you design a light tank?

Hate to break it to you Rok but that first on is a model of one that was made by GM Canada know as the Mowag Piranha in 1970 and failed the tests a Aberdeen.

let see you say light tank, ok
we have the abrams stripped down, give it a larger engine and say a 80mm gun
it needs to shoot and then get the hell out of dodge

You can't strip down an Abrams to a light tank weight, it'd be impossible. Then why not give it a 105mm gun, like all modern light vehicles can mount. And how could you fight an engine larger then a 1500 horsepower into a small light tank? Why would you need too?

This is the swedish Combat Vehicle 90. It's a Light Infantry Fighting Vehicle. It can carry up to 7 passengers and can be fitted with many different turrets for different purposes. There are a standard 40 mm gun, a 40 mm anti arcraft gun, a 120 mm grenade thrower, a 30 mm Bushmaster II/MK44 and a 120 mm tank gun like the one on the abrams. It can travel 44 mph and is if you ask me very close to the ultimate light tank.
