How does he (Michael Moore) sleep at night?

Right on ... I also have a problem with those that call a film maker they don't like a traitor. A traitor is a Jane Fonda who was lovey-dovey with North Vietnamese soldiers and who celebrated the deaths of our troops ... NOW, THAT'S A TRAITOR.

Technically isnt isnt Treason because Jane Fonda never was in the military nor worked for the US Government. However she could have been charged with Providing aid and comfort to the Enemy, I'm guessing Daddy got her off from being indicted.

Treason law is applied to ANY U.S. citizen anywhere in the world....her 'daddy' was also a Vet and a hardcore socialist. Where did you get the idea treason only applied to a military service member or that worked for the U.S. government?

Treason pure and simple ...

I am sorry to disabuse you MM... what Hanoi Jane did WAS treason. What's worse, she celebrated every time the casualty list was posted and more of our men were added to the killed (or) missing in action list.
IT WASN'T JUST AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY.

IT WAS TREASON ..... PERIOD

Time has NOT and will NOT change the nature of the crimes she committed against this nation

For information:
It is my stated mission to throw her over the side of any Naval vessel she boards if she is within my reach. A former Commanding Officer threatened to toss me into the brig if she came aboard ... I informed him that's exactly what he would have to do if she came aboard to keep me from carrying out my threat.

He called me a Republican... :???:

Lets get this straight. I think Michael Moore is sub-human trash. I do not think the power of law should be used to prevent him from venting his disgusting little spleen any more than I think it should be used against pathetic right-wing blowhards like Michael Savage. Moore is about as endearing as Fred Phelps, but he has every right to lie just like everyone else.

Now this is an opinion that I could understand ... nothing that he has so far created would place him in the traitor category. I can understand why someone might articulate an opinion like m0t posted though.

On 9/11/01 the world changed forever. The United States of America was hit with one of the worst terrorist attacks in history. Everyone in America came together as one and stoud united to fight the enemy we had seen smash planes into are building and challenge our will to remain free.

But everything that happened that day and the lessons we learned were twisted by people like Michael Moore. They made us into the murders rather than the terrorists. We looked at everything Michael Moore told us and we began to feel ashamed of ourselves. But I would like to think the Americans are better than what Michael Moore showed us in his movies and I hope Americans been to see that as well.

I was mistaken about the first part, you can be a private citizen and be charged for Treason. However I was right about Jane Fonda. Jane Fonda could not be tried for treason because the USA was never technically at war with North Vietnam. The US Constitution defines treason;

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.

Jane Fonda did not wage war against the USA (she never enlisted in the NVA) and since the US was never technically at war with North Vietnam the second part doesnt apply either. Its legalese I admit, but its accurate.

Yeah, technically she is an @$$hole too!

It's possible to hate the administration and terrorists at the same time you know... Don't listen to their false patriotism.

It still makes no sense to me how people can call filmmakers traitors. A traitor is someone who is hurting you or helping your enemies, but a film can't do that, and we have free speech anyways.

Say something they strongly disagree with and a lot of conservatives will throw that ideal right out the window.

You mean the like films made by the NAZIs portraying Jews as rats raping young German women? Way to go sparkey.

It's not hard to be a traitor. All you have to do is tear down our military and country and use the excuse that it's all about hating an administration but supporting the military. I've heard this crap until I'm sick to my stomach. No American shirks their duty to support their country when She needs us the most.

I don't agree with everything this President does, I didn't support everything President Clinton did, I didn't care for all of President Bush Sr.'s policies, I don't think President Carter was the best of our best, President Reagan had one of the toughest jobs on Earth when he took over a stripped military and turned it into the formidable force that it is today, President Ford was just not really Presidential material, President Nixon was brilliant and probably one of our best Presidents but not my ideal, President Johnson wavered and let our boys down in Vietnam but he was always the consumate politician, My CIC, President Kennedy had personal problems but never brought let anything sway his love of his country.

Now, that's a long list but there's one thing in common with all of them. They were all Presidents of the United States of America, an office that represents what we as a country are, good and bad. I made it a personal goal to never, never tear down the administration of any of these extraordianary men even if I had to bite my tongue. They're woven into the fabric of our past as surely as each star was woven onto our flag.

I guess I'm just dumb, electing all these people who can't wave a magic wand and solve all the world's problems. I'll die honoring these men who didn't turn their backs when their country called them to one of the most unforgiving jobs that ever existed. And I'll always remember that all our enemies have ever wanted was to cause enough doubt in us about our leaders that we turn against them and, in doing so, tear down the very foundation that our freedom is built on.

That's all I've got to say on this subject.

There's nothing technical about it, its official. I read the chapter in her book about her whole Vietnam experiance and it was basically 'pity me' and 'it wasnt my fault'.

I reserve my pity for those who lost family members and will NEVER know where their loved ones are buried. There are still way too many POW MIA listed from that damn war.

Jane Fonda can burn in h e l l for the next thousand years and I will have no sympathy for her. She knew exactly what she was doing ... rewriting history won't erase her actions from MY memories.

You can quote from any piece of paper you wish ...

Hanoi Jane is/was/alway will be -

A TRAITOR ... PERIOD.

I wonder why you guys hate people, who has different points of view in some matters, and start calling them as a traitors. Isnt that facism too?

Absolutely not its just expressing your opinion. Now, If I kicked his ass because of what he said that would be a different story.

I personally don't care for the guy. He makes money off of Americans using anti-American films... irony? Everytime I see him in his own films, he reminds me of a Dungeons and Dragons pro master (i.e. he looks like a nerd/bum with the hair, crap clothes, glasses, and cap).

I have no will to heat him.
But not only him but also all pink should think themself about how normal people regard them.
Moore may be an Oscar-winning filmmaker and a best-selling author, but he is also a world-class provocateur. If he had not capitalized on the Disney distribution deal to promote his movie, that would have been news.

it doesn't matter we like him or not, some political things are really good for making movie.
in film industry, producers only care if their movie can make money or win some awards from some famous film festivals. some filmmakers use the stradegy of making peole hate me to get attention from the public,so that people will notice the name of this filmmaker and his movie. it is very obvious that Moore did awesome job for promoting his show by creating chaos. Moore is a smart guy who knows how to take advantage of and manipulate such controvertial topics. since he becomes so rich, he can afford spending a LOT of money to make any topics in which he is interested. who are gonna stop him? he knows "no controvertial thing, no audience".
