Housewives, Hoodlums Fight for Mexico Death Cult (Reuters)

This is actually some pretty scary stuff related to Palo Mayambo and Santa Ria. Anybody remember Murder Ranch in Matamoros?

It occured in the early 90's in Matomoros Mexico. A Cuban Santero of Palo Mayambo which is a mix of West African Religion and Catholism was conducting Human Sacrifices to protect Drug Smugglers.

Kidding? In the early NINETIES?

Nope I'm not kidding. The High Priest was named Costanzo. His mother had been a Santera in Santa Ria and followed Palo Mayambo and raised him to be a Santero. He started out doing the regular BS taro card readings and Protection rituals in Mexico City and eventually graduated to human sacrifices in order to protect Smugglers on the border.

Santa Ria and Palo Mayambo are West African religions kind of like Voo Doo but different. The Slaves brought to the Dominican and Cuba to work the Plantations disguised their Native Religions with the Catholic Saints, Virgins and Christ in order to fool their Masters. Each Saint represents a West African God or Spirit. Offerings are made, honey, blood, cigars , Rum, food, candy. Whatever the particular Saint likes. Including the Biggy life. For a favor to be granted. Money, love, safety etc.

Costanzo managed to form a Cult that sacrificed alot of people. Their down fall came by kidnapping a University of Texas student on spring break in Matamoros.
