HMS Illustrious returns to Tyneside

A WARM welcome was given to HMS Illustrious when she returned to Tyneside.
And home boy Naval Airman Aircraft Handler Christopher Fiddler was glad to be back. “I’m just looking forward to relaxing and seeing my family,” he said.
Christopher, 23, of Long Benton, North Tyneside, was planning to spend the evening with old school friends and his fiancee Rebecca, who had travelled from London to see him.
But not before getting a big hug from mum Deborah who was waiting to pick him up at the Northumbrian Quay in North Shields where the ship berthed yesterday afternoon.
