Hitler's 'Germania'

A look into the underground tunnels of Adolf Hitler has unearthed the former dictator’s architectural vision for Berlin as the “capital of the world.”
The tunnels, lying about 50 feet below Tiergarten Park, were part of a vast underground network that would have included roads and a rail system. Above the surface, a series of huge buildings, which were never completed due to World War II.
The city, which has since been dubbed “Germania,” would have far outshined the architecture of cities like Paris and Rome, with its center being the biggest domed hall in history.
The tunnels are normally closed to the public due to safety, but tours can be arranged.

Hitler certainly had an eye for the grandiose - some of the things he was planning were amazing from a technological and architectural standpoint.

Shame he ruined it all with his warped racial policies though. :p

Yes - behold the monster. He and his tyrants created a Germany that stank to high heaven,; a stench which has taken half a century to dissipate.

Yes, such things can happen; such things did happen. Could such things happen again?

It occurs to me that when Darwinism is applied to the human state it only produces something very very ugly.

To be perfectly honest anyone seeing the scale of what he wanted to do should have realised there and then that he was megalomaniac (that is assuming Mein Kampf wasn't convincing enough) and should not be kept around for long.

I had no idea. thanks for the post.

Germania was a impossible dream ,berlin mean swamp...the Welthauptstadtwasimpossible city...first the Schwerbelastungskörper was built to know if the Volkshalle and Triumphal Arch was possible to build, and the Schwerbelastrungkörper test fail after .

But no doubt the Germania capital of the world was a great idea , great plan impossible to build but great.
