Well, if not for the US, we would have been screwed. However, to be truthful, South Koreans did most of the fighting (however, that should be as the war was on South Korea)

Although the US provided about 90% of the extra support for South Korea, I do prefer the term 'if the UN hadn't helped us we would of been screwed'. Because, of course, it was a UN peacekeeping operation and many other countries, like Britain, were involved. Just not to the extent the US was.
It's a developed country now and the standard of living is higher than many other "Western" countries. The sacrifices made during that war were not in vain.
