Heroes of Korea... US forces of the Korean War

Well, if not for the US, we would have been screwed. However, to be truthful, South Koreans did most of the fighting (however, that should be as the war was on South Korea)
For a real war film about the Korean war, you should see Taegukgi: Brotherhood of War. It's on Youtube, with English subtitles.

Although the US provided about 90% of the extra support for South Korea, I do prefer the term 'if the UN hadn't helped us we would of been screwed'. Because, of course, it was a UN peacekeeping operation and many other countries, like Britain, were involved. Just not to the extent the US was.

That is entirely true.

Sorry Yin117. You're right, the US did have a huge part, but other nations not even remotely connected to Korea at that time like Sweden still contributed a big part and died.

Wow! An amazing video. I hadn't realised how greatly Korea has turned itself around. Ana amazing feat!

It's a developed country now and the standard of living is higher than many other "Western" countries. The sacrifices made during that war were not in vain.

Though I am sure that all those who died fighting for a Socialist Korea won't be too pleased if they could see what the Korean Peninsula is like now.
