WHY I LOVE VERMONT

It's winter in Vermont
and the gentle breezes blow
72 miles per hour at 52 below

Oh how I love Vermont
When the snows up to your butt
You take a breath of winter air,
and your nose, it freezes shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave Vermont
'cause I'm frozen to the ground!

From the Tunbridge Worlds Fair..1885

Without the windchill factor it can get to less than -40° F which is still -40° for you folks on metric using Celsius (it's the only temperature the two scales meet). With the windchill factor it's gotten below -60° F or -51° C.

It also can get quite hot in the summer. Highs in the upper 90s F (32° and above C) are common and the hottest day I can recall it hit 106° F or 41° C.
