I guess that it was my granddad that inspired me to become a soldier.
My granddad was recruited by the US Army on Iceland in 1944. He had studied in Leipzig in Germany before the war and spoke German fluently. He became a member of the Counter Intelligence Corps and was involved in interrogation of German prisoners of war. From late 1945 until 1948 he was working in Germany. He has never reviled what he did there.
My daughter has an ambition that she wants to be a helicopter pilot so she can rescue people in distress. Well she´s only 12 so maybe some other things may pup up.
