im 13 years of age. i have wanted to be a marine sniper for.... well since i grew up past the stage of wanting to be a cop. i shoot small caliber weapons... .22.,, 2.43.,, 2.23,, etc.. .50 caliber. yes .50 is a big gun. it is black powder though. however my friend has .50 caliber sniper rifles that i intend on shooting soon. Im naturally a good shot. im good at math. i have my own ghille suit. i could go on and on about what i do and shoot and have. however i need help with requirements, and other expectations and tips that would help me become a good sniper. i understand mil dot scopes also. if someone could help me, preferably former snipers, or anyone that has a clue what there talking about. that would be very helpful. thnx.

At 13, concentrate on getting good grades.
Your priorities may shift many times along the way untill you are able to sign up.
Should they not the Marine corps will always be there.
And as you progress through your training you´ll get to know all you need to.

I want to do the same thing but are officers allowed to be snipers? and also to lkndy keep the grades above Bs and i know that you have to make a shot at 500meters in prone with the M16A4 (average) not very hard also patience is a very good virtue

If you want to be a good Marine officer, you should be getting straight As.
And you should be on your high school track/cross country team.

Jesus freakin Christ! There is a search function, use it.

Become a Marine

Become an Infantry Marine

Apply for Scout /Sniper

What is it that inspires a youngster to aspire to a career of shooting unsuspecting people from long range?

Movies and video games.
But then... there has always been one outlet or another for exposure to the military, which would naturally create aspiring soldiers -- aspiring to do what soldiers do.

If it wasn't Call of Duty or Rambo, it would be the little plastic figures they sold by the dozen at Toys-R-Us.

We'd probably have better soldiers without most of that junk.

Consumerism and commercialism in America, I can't tell you how annoying it is, even stuck as a civilian all the nine year olds in the grocery stores, talking about a M 16 A4 from xbox, like they have field experiance with the damned thing...

I just jostile at the fact the windage dial is on the wrong side in that game...

There's my act of rebellion in the face of changing times.
