i just want to post a poem i wrote for my hubby that is currently part of Operation enduring Freedom.

I’m so scared,
But for you I pretend,
When that phone rings and I answer,
“I love you.” I tell you as I hold back the tears
Because I know I must stay strong.
As a soldier’s wife, I too must know my duty.
But I can’t help but to feel so alone,
And wonder when you are coming home,
Telling you bye, every time I have to hang up the phone,
I dread.
I spend my day’s waiting for you to calll,
So I can hear your voice and that you love me one more time,
And to know that today… you’re okay.
I miss you so much already….
I just feel so helpless knowing that you’re so far away
And I can’t keep you safe.
But I dream of the day you will hold me in your arms once more
And tell me your here to stay.
I can just see you meeting your baby boy,
As he sees his daddy for the first time.
Mommy’s hero is what you will be.
In my heart forever and in my thoughts,
I pray for you day and night.
Stay strong my Soldier,
I’m not going anywhere.
So sleep tight, my Marine
I’ll be with you through this fight.
