I was a 19 year old B-17 navigator in WORLD WAR TWO , surviving a 23,000 foot free fall and parachute jump only to be captured and imprisoned at the famous "Great Escape" prison camp. I have written a book for anyone who wants to know what it really felt like to fly combat missions, to be captured and to suffer the rigors of a winter death match under armed guard, to be on an overcrowded cattle car train and transported to the Hell Hole prison at Moosburg, Germany along with 110,000 POW's, eating rancid "soup", fighting dysentery and swarming fleas, starving and finally being rescued by General Patton's Third Army at war's end. I am now a Chicago trial lawyer for the past 52 years.
