Hello everyone!

I'm still new here and my military knowledge is somehow "low" compared to others in here....LOL. Maybe I could learn a thing or two.

Anyways, hello guys...I just wanted to hear some warm welcomes and probably hear about some of your military experiences since I gotta join the EDF on August, 2013 -it's by force, not a choice (maybe unfortunately?)- so, I wonder if someone can give a very brief example of how life is in the army.

P.S on the left it shows the American flag because I'm a permanent resident and currently living in the US. I'm not claiming to be something I'm not.

Greetings!

Welcome from an ancient NCO.
How´s life in the Army? - well, don´t know never been a soldier. :sarc:
Like this I believe.

Life in the Army

Greetings and Welcome, friend...

I am not quite sure what you mean by you gotta join the EDF by force...

Anyway, we have some really good vet and some other pretty good ones, too...

And by the way, you gotta to interact with a good friend of mine- he is in the RM, and a pretty cool guy- in the very sense of the word...! :):):)

All males in my country are required to do military service. Your education level decides how long your service will be and also decides which part of the army you will serve in. When it comes to females though, they don't have to serve and if they volunteer they only do side stuff like nursing..etc but they don't carry weapons. Quite sexist, I would have to say.

EDIT: And yeah sure, I would like to interact with that good friend of yours. :) One question though, I believe RM = Royal Marines??

Its the right attitude.
Take things as they come and you´ll discover how easy it is to get through.
Probably that might be true. But, I guess if you have like a hint beforehand of what you're going to experience helps you get ready emotionally.

Sure is, not to be confused with RMP, which was my lot - Royal Military Police, now you don't want to get on the wrong side of my old comrades, we make the USMPs look like pussy cats. ;) :D

Hahaha....actually, what really fascinated me is the Chinese military. I've seen some video in some other thread with a video in it about Chinese soldiers. Man, they were like freaking robots and perfectly synchronized with their moves; their arms and their legs. They looked so freaking disciplined, I guess those guys make the rest of the world look like pussy cats.:salute2:

You want to watch precision foot drill, check on YouTube for British military parades. ;)
